- Access, interpret and apply the Mine Work Health and Safety Management Plan and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Access, interpret and clarify the Work Health and Safety Management Plan
- Identify, clarify and communicate roles, responsibilities and tasks to others
- Identify, obtain and allocate resources and equipment required for the application of the Work Health and Safety Management Plan
- Identify individual training needs
- Identify, report and review the major hazards, and review established procedures
- Determine appropriate controls for hazards and develop risk control measures
- Identify potential safety, health or hygiene risks
- Apply Work Health and Safety Management Plan
- Determine requirements of the Work Health and Safety Management Plan
- Assess and communicate the nature and scope of the incidents
- Prepare an action plan in consultation with others to maintain health and safety
- Apply and monitor health and safety plans and procedures
- Apply procedures for monitoring, recording and reporting on hazards
- Monitor effectiveness of WHS control measures
- Monitor the application of health and safety procedures and control measures
- Monitor the activities of others in relation to any major hazards
- Monitor the use, effectiveness and appropriateness of safety procedures including adequate personal protective equipment, systems and measures
- Monitor systems and procedures for manual and assisted handling
- Monitor the health aspects relevant to work activities and requirements
- Monitor adequacy of control measures and revise where necessary
- Action or recommend changes to improve the health and safety aspects of the job
- Investigate and report any accident or near miss
- Maintain written WHS records of work injury, incidents, health and hygiene issues
- Report verbally and in writing WHS issues which need resolving by others
